Motivation and Progress

The quickest way of seeing where you’re headed is seeing that everything has two polar opposites. To start with get an idea of your direction first, what you think you want to achieve.

Its like knowing which instrument you want to play or what sport you want to watch. Sometimes when starting over we aren’t sure which direction we want to go, and spend unnecessary time just worrying hence staying stuck thinking you’ll make the wrong decision.

The important things is to start, life soon shows you and you’ll begin to feel little twinges either more passionate or less motivated to continue. In some cases a complete break is needed, to get away from the constant sameness that causes decisions to become clouded. If this is the case you need to break away completely, and if you cannot take a holiday take a job break and go and do something that you would never normally do. Like go and work in a volunteer place for a while even if its once or twice a week. Or go and do some simple deliveries or work with the elderly or part time in a store.

This will give you ‘head space’ away from the previous and free you up from stagnated energy and clarity will gradually return.

By giving yourself a break away from the previous, you will discover what actually is standing in your path. Its not always easy to see as sometimes it could be a fear lurking, of not feeling good enough, or deep down not being ready to put all the effort into what is required to proceed with the task ahead. And not facing this inner fear or struggle, you only delay your own happiness ultimately.

Once you’ve had time to make a clear break and have broken through your barriers or uncertainties you will feel fresh energy and enthusiasm returning. That’s the time to sit down and divide your page into a list of priorities.

You can compare this to making a recipe for a cake or planning a dinner for friends, allocating how much time to give each part; it’s the same with your list you are setting yourself a task and working a schedule into it.

Its small steps and the rule of thumb with it all is to tell yourself that in your 12hour day you will think about only what needs to be done here and now and the rest will take care of itself. This is because when you put positive energy forward only positive results will be reflected back to you.

And what may have started as insignificant ideas or trivial paragraphs, you will find that they all accumulate and even if you don’t use them, you will find later that the information will serve some other area, and will suddenly fit perfectly with something you forgot you had.
